02:50 am - Boring. Disregard. Wow. LJ is 10? Why does it seem older?
It's been a LONG time since I bothered with posting here so why not now? Where have I been? What have I been doing?
Nutshell version = Left Miami in late 2006, took Job at Sirius, moved to NYC, met a girl, met some good friends, moved from brooklyn to queens, fell for girl, got rid of my car, got engaged to girl, still own townhouse in Florida (wanna buy it?), watched my company merge with another and now here I am, updating my livejournal from my sweet-deal apartment in Long Island City, Queens, NYC.
Somewhere in there I built a nice big fancy computer that I use for freelance and updating facebook occasionally.
Hooray. Current Location: NYC Current Mood: sleepy

05:16 am - 5:16am Can't sleep...AGAIN. I'd pop some Xanax again but anxiety isn't really the problem. I think I may have brewed regular coffee and not decaf as my "goodnight" blend tonight. Either that or my schedule is just THAT effed up.
I'm going to Spain next month. I'm insanely excited about it too. I'm meeting up with my pal Adam Cole in the UK and flying down with him to the southern coast and then flying up to Barcelona for a few days. Downloading my Spanish lessons as I type.
Not much else. Just read some articles about global warming. Looks like we're doomed and should all move to the upper and middle part of the country...or Norway.
On a lighter note...I'm sleepier after 2 Amstels.
Goodnight?

04:57 am - 5am It wouldnt be an insomnia-ridden Sunday night/Monday morning without a livejournal entry. The .25mg of Xanax didn't work on it's own so I'm in the process of slamming an Amstel. Healthy, I know.
The wind is blowing like flippin crazy outside. Sounds like a nor'easter...or a winter hurricane.
People upstairs are awake and getting ready for work. Great.

12:30 am - Um. You know what's scary to me? The ice cream man driving down neighborhood streets on a February weekend. No joke.
Oh. If you find yourself busting down the Jersey Turnpike through the bottom half of the state listen for me co-staring in a regional spot with the announcer guy from the Daily Show. Was cast for 5 glorious lines as a smartass reporter.
And I built a computer. Really.

03:19 am - Happy New Year I drove through Manhattan tonight on my way home from Margaret and Wades New Years Eve party tonight. Traffic was surprisingly light but the streets were littered with drunken tourists trying to flag down cabs. I felt a little almighty being sober and driving while they stumbled their way through the streets after being unintentionally manhandled for several hours in Times Square and now stuck there. It was not a bad feeling, but maybe it should have been?
JJ was playing party favs on Z100 on my ride home. Now listening to Brad Savage online. He's doing "Partyville" on 106.1 The Corner and it's fun...lots of fun...1061thecorner.com
Listen..then go back to your satellite radio. Current Location: New York, NY (Okay...Queens) Current Mood: happy Current Music: Partyville!

04:12 am - Domestic Disturbance So I called the cops on my downstairs neighbor tonight. The guy was fighting with his girlfriend about how she hurt his cat or some s*!t. It was comically "Real-World"ish at first but then I heard a big thud, crash and the girl was all like ow, oh my god...owwww (crying)! So yeah, I call.
Cops come like a half hour later and do whatever. So then the guy comes up all mad at me and I end up having this argument with him. It was fun.
But seriously. What would you do? Current Mood: anxious

12:33 am - By B-Day My B-day is Friday and when I was born #7 on the charts was "Patches" by Clarence Carter...#6 was Stevie Wonders "Signed, Sealed, Delivered...".
I'm Listening to American Top 40 from the very week of my birth (..on XM. shhhh).
I share birthdays with (fellow Minnesotan) Craig Killborne, Chad Michael Murray, Dave Chapelle, Cal Ripken Jr., Yasser Arafat and (aw hell yeah) Steve Guttenburg!
#5..."I got you babe"...Sonny n' Cher.
Do the math.. Take the number of Police Academy movies, subtract the total number of Chapelle show episodes, multiply it by the number of consecutive games played by Cal Ripken Jr. for the O's, Chad Michael Murrays IQ (2) and the 1-10 value of Craig Killborne's overall talent (also 2) and the answer was Yassar Arafats lucky number. Wait...he's dead.
#4. War "Spill the Wine"
#3. Carpenters- "Close to You" awww...I feel fat.
#2. Bread - "Make it with You"
#1!!! Edwin Star - "War" (...and it's still not good for anything)
There you have it. Keep your feet on the ground.....

05:00 am - Can't sleep. Sleepless night in the new apartment. Trying the old window-style air conditioner knowing that it will probably make up for any savings in rent I received by moving to Queens. Great. I'm supposed to be working during the day tomorrow (today) so the anxiety is at me. .25mg of Xanax is not helping.
Saw wacky weather man Lonnie Quinn on our CBS affiliate here. Must have moved his zany weather routine from Miami up to NYC.
Going to Montreal on Saturday with Jeff for the long weekend and a few extra days (5 total). Any suggestions on where to go? What to do?

06:57 pm
So I've been invited to speak on a panel about radio imaging at Conclave this year. Not sure who else is on it, but sounds pretty cool. An excuse to go home for a weekend if nothing else. Anyone wanna hang out?? Or go to a radio convention? Weee.
www.theconclave.com
Going to get the keys to my new apartment in Long Island City tomorrow. Long Island City is not actually on "Long Island" as people know it but rather the first stop on the "N" train after leaving the upper East side of Manhattan. The neighborhood isn't as hipster or yuppie but is much closer to work and not too far from the train. The apartment itself is laid out a lot better than the one I'm in now, too. Plus it has a dishwasher.
Gotta go eat.

01:22 pm - Productive? As I am obsessed with my own air travel, the last 3-4 days have been consumed by data entry. Stumbled accross flightmemory.com where you can record all your known flight info (I have itineraries dating back to 2002 saved in my e-mail "travel" folder...I'm a geek). Here are the stats...image links to my full stat page.

Other than that I'm moving out of Park Slope to save $$$ in mid May. My new home will be Long Island City in Queens! Much closer to work but wedged in a very industrial area so I give up the convenience of being near conveniences like swanky bars and a CVS next door. But whatever.
Is anyone still livejournalling?? I think I'm coming back.
